Met Dicky and the crew at southampton.

After the world record crossing of the atlantic in 1986 the £1.5m boat was sold to a Middle Eastern sheik in the late 80s but then spent the next 25 years languishing in a boatyard on the Spanish holiday island of Mallorca until boat-mad Dan Stevens (front right) stumbled across it in 2012.

After meeting him at the Royal Canoe Clun on 2016 we planned a cruise that would allow us to travel the world should we find a time when we were free from the burden of commuting.

Then Covid came along and opportunity called.

Dan and I are going to costco tomorrow to stock up before we start the first leg of the trip to the Mediterranean tomorrow evening.

Properly excited
